In a world where influencers, bloggers, and social media stars are popping up left and right, it’s hard to keep up with who is who anymore! No offense to these people, but pets are ranking higher as the top influencers in social media! I don’t know about you, but every time I open Instagram, my feed is flooded with various animals, pets, rescue organizations, or pet-related businesses that are influencing other pet owners or trying to make a difference in the animal world. So move over humans, social media has gone to the dogs-so to speak (there are a few famous cats, horses, and even a fox that made our list)!

Tatum (@hi.this.is.tatum)

“Hi! This is Tatum!” Seriously, if you haven’t watched any of Tatum’s videos, where have you been?! This talking, jumping rescue pup has over 270K followers and he has the most hysterical videos which are, by far, one of the most addicting things to watch. Listen to his talks about “sugar nuggets” and tell me you can’t relate!

Tatum was rescued from Pixel Fund Rescue and lives in Maine with his parents who help manage his social media pages and keep him grounded with all of his newfound fame. Thanks to his posts, he has been featured on The Dodo, Buzzfeed, and is even running for America’s Favorite Pet! You can vote for him here. Tatum is a true example of a happily ever after rescue story!

Emma Roo (@emmarooonlyhastwo)

Emma Roo spent the beginning of her life in a living hell. At only 8 weeks old she found herself a victim of a Chinese slaughterhouse, where her front legs were literally CUT OFF. Thanks to her passionate rescuers in Beijing and the Dalmatian Rescue of South Florida, Emma Roo was able to say “Goodbye!” to China forever and “Hello!” to the U.S.

After landing in the United States in January 2020, Emma Roo was rescued by her forever mom, Misha Rackcliff Hunt, who has helped to rehabilitate her and is currently working on her therapy dog certification. Together, Emma Roo and Misha are spreading the word and encouraging others to help end the dog meat trade.

Loki (lokithewolfdog.com)

What initially started as an owner just posting fun pictures with his favorite furry best friend, quickly turned into a phenomenon! This part husky/part malamute with a little bit of wolf thrown in has the most beautifully, stunning photos of all of the adventures in the great outdoors that he takes with his dad. With over 2 million followers and various big name sponsors, Loki is one of the most influential pets out there right now!

Juniper Foxx (@juniperfoxx)

While we would never encourage keeping wild animals as pets (in fact, in most states its illegal), Juniper was born in captivity and since he cannot be released into the wild, has lived his entire life in a home of rescued exotic animals. With his adorable smile, Juniper is “the happiest fox” which also just happens to be the title of his book! His owners are currently working toward creating a sanctuary to help exotic animals who have nowhere else to go, to live a healthy, happy life.

Venus(@venustwofacecat)

Venus is one of the most uniquely beautiful cats in the world. Her two-toned face, accentuated by two different colored eyes, is absolutely gorgeous! However, her one-of-a-kind face isn’t the only thing that makes this cat stand out in a crowd-her personality is just as remarkable! Her model-worthy poses and photos have helped to land her multiple endorsements with large companies and even her very own calendar!

Khaleesi and Django (@khaleesi.django.dalmatian)

This Dalmatian duo is one of Germany’s top petfluencers and for good reason! With over 174K followers, these two dogs have sponsors in the pet food, gear, and nutritional supplement industries as well as many more! Have I mentioned the pictures?! My gosh, the photos of these two dogs are simply breathtaking! It might have something to do with the rare, but gorgeous lemon-spotted Khaleesi and her beautifully spotted counterpart, Django, and their precise poses! These two are definitely worth checking out and following!

Louboutina (@louboutinanyc)

If getting a hug from a dog doesn’t make your day, then nothing will! As a NYC native, Louboutina does exactly that! She goes around the city giving people hugs and it is the most adorable thing to see! In fact, she is known around the world as the “hugging dog”.  You can tell she really enjoys giving people hugs because in the majority of her posts you can see a little smile on her face! With a goal to spread love and kindness around the world, it’s no wonder she is a top petfluencer!

Teddy the Shetland Pony (@teddytheshetland)

Don’t let his size fool you-Teddy may be small, but he is truly a mega star! In fact, this pint-sized pony has some colossal brands under his saddle too, like Penguin Books, Amazon, and Paramount Pictures. As a model, Teddy does promotional work as well as charitable work, including visiting children in a local hospital and being the official mascot for Willberry Wonder Pony Charity.

Lil Bub (@iamlilbub)

Despite having multiple genetic anomalies and medical issues, our next featured feline remains happy and carefree. Found as the runt of a feral litter in Indiana, it was apparent that Lil Bub needed some medical attention. Since being found in 2011, Lil Bub has gone on to defeat the odds and become one of the most famous cats in the world.

In addition to being absolutely adorable, this little kitty has achieved some majors goals in her life including being an author, a talk show host, and, most impressively, created Lil Bub’s Big Fund for the ASPCA, which is the nation’s first fund for special needs pets. 100% of the funds collected are distributed by the ASPCA to animal welfare organizations around the country to help support animals with special needs. As a result, Lil Bub has helped to raise over $300,000 for special needs animals! Needless to say, Lil Bub is making a BIG difference!

Nala (@nala_cat)

Our final famous feline is quite the beauty! Nala was adopted when she was 5 months old from a shelter. Her owner never imagined Nala would become famous when she created her Instagram, but thanks to her fame, Nala and her owner help to spread the word to “Adopt, Don’t Shop” due to the millions of innocent animals that are euthanized in shelters every year. Nala also has her own premium cat food, Love Nala, and is also a Guinness World Record Holder for being the most popular cat on Instagram!
